The Techno-Classica is a consumer fair with up to 200,000 visitors and more than 1250 exhibitors, the largest classic car fair in the world. It has been held every spring at Messe Essen since 1989 .

Event hosting

The Techno-Classica offers a broad forum for the entire field of motorized automobile, motorcycle and commercial vehicle history, the maintenance of and sport with historical vehicles. The core is formed by the stands of the European large-scale manufacturers , who often display the holdings of their group's own museums here . This is supplemented by many brand-related associations and interest groups that also represent small brands or brands that have already expired .

In 2014 more than 2500 vehicles from all over the world were offered for sale by auction houses, classic dealers and private individuals. In addition, there are manufacturers of spare parts , tools and maintenance products, and represented Restaurationsbetriebe. In the same way , other goods related to vintage cars such as model cars , books and old enamel signs are also offered at Techno-Classica .

In addition, Techno-Classica offers numerous classic car associations, interest groups and organizers a large presentation forum. Racing cars and racing motorcycles from different eras can be seen in separate exhibition areas. In addition, special shows take place every year, for example a unique presentation of automobiles by the Italian design forge Zagato in 2014.

A total of 120,000 m² of exhibition space is occupied, which is spread over 10 halls and 4 outdoor areas.
