Telecine [ ˈtɛliˌsɪni ] (from English tele [vision] , " television ", and cine [ma] , " cinema ") describes the process of optically scanning a film in order to obtain an analog or digital video signal . An important procedure for this is the 3: 2 pull-down (with the NTSC system). A film scanner is used for this.
