Telephone socket (Austria)
The connection units of T elephone s teck s ystem ( TSS ) of Telekom Austria (TKA) consist of the Austrian T elefonsteck do se ( TDO ) and the T elephone st ecker ( TST ). They have the following connections:
(Connector seen from the pin side)
connection | Pin code | signal | Color of the cable core |
---|---|---|---|
a | 1 | Incoming signal wire a (from the exchange) | yellow Red) |
E. | 2 | earth | green / yellow striped |
W2 | 3 | Second alarm clock, for example ringer second device | |
4th | free | ||
b | 5 | Incoming signal wire b (from the exchange) | Brown black) |
b1 | 6th | Outgoing signal wire b (to the next socket) | black (brown) |
7th | free | ||
F2 | 8th | Listening in | |
F2 | 9 | Listening in | |
a1 | 10 | Outgoing signal wire a (to the next socket) | Red Yellow) |
Compared to the six-pole German system ( telecommunications connection unit , TAE), the Austrian system has ten poles. However, only four of these are connected to normal landline telephones without additional devices.
The telephone socket has an order of priority for the individual devices. The left plug (△ triangle, active additional device) in front of the right plug (○ circle, passive additional device) and finally the middle plug (☏ telephone receiver, telephone) interrupt the device later in this row as soon as they establish active or passive communication. Checking for compliance with the electrical wiring of the cables and end devices used helps with troubleshooting.
The priority:
- (△ left) active additional device (e.g. fax): A device that can automatically pick up and, if necessary, simulate a call to downstream devices.
- (○ right) passive additional device (e.g. answering machine): A device that does not disconnect the downstream devices when it is picked up and, if necessary, can detect whether someone has picked up behind it.
- (☏ center) Telephone.
There used to be a rule that a call had to be received. Therefore, with a socket connection (several TDOs connected in series), a ringer module in the last TDO was absolutely necessary: If no telephone was plugged in, the socket would ring.
