Telipinu (Ḫalpa)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Telipinu was a son of the Hittite great king Šuppiluliuma I , who installed his son there as a priest after the submission of Kizzuwatna . Telipinu then led the conquest of Syria and was then installed as king in Ḫalpa by his father. He died at the latest in the 9th year of the reign of Mursili II (approx. 1313 BC). His son and successor was Talmi-Sarruma . Both Telipinu and Talmi-Šarruma are mentioned in an architectural inscription that is walled into the south wall of the al-Qaiqan mosque .
