Tell Mašnaqa or Tell Maschnaka ( Arabic تل مشنقة Tal Maschnaqa , DMG Tall Mašnaqa ) is a prehistoric site in the Chabur region . It is located about 30 km from al-Hasakah in present-day Syria . The site was excavated from 1990 by a Danish and a French team of archaeologists, mainly finds from the Obed and Uruk periods came to light. The Tell wasfloodedafter the al-Hasakah dam was built . It had an area of ​​about 4 hectares and a height of 4 to 11 meters above the surrounding plain.
