Temos describes the global certification of hospitals, clinics, dental practices, rehabilitation centers and other facilities according to German standards and builds a global network of expertise of hospitals and other medical facilities ( e.g. doctor's practice , polyclinic ). Temos was founded in 2004 as part of an ESA project and further developed at the DLR ( German Aerospace Center ) and at the RWTH Aachen University Hospital . The aim is to optimize medical care for patients worldwide and internationally. This explicitly includes travelers and people working abroad.

history

The Temos project was launched in 2004 under the patronage of the European space agency ESA (ARTES 3 program) and further developed in the following years at the DLR ( German Aerospace Center ) and at the RWTH Aachen University Hospital .

In 2005 the first hospitals in Southern Europe and Turkey are evaluated and certified. MedSky is integrated as a platform in the telemedicine concept of TEMOS. Internal tests with electronic patient records and the video conference booking system are carried out. The construction of the database with validated information on hospitals and medical practices worldwide begins.

In 2006 , due to the success of the project, the decision was made to work towards a spin-off of Temos as a private company . A “mobile telemedicine station” that is used in remote areas is being tested and is ready for use. The installation of the telemedicine platform is being successfully prepared together with two pilot partners. Further hospital certifications are being carried out.

In 2007 , Temos was officially classified as a spin-off project by DLR. The Temos database contains around 1,000 records on medical institutions worldwide. Indonesia becomes the first country in Southeast Asia to participate in the network. The first teleconsultations are put into practice: In August a specialist from Brazil gives a second opinion on a heart patient in Crete .

In 2008 the Temos database includes information on more than 1,800 medical facilities worldwide. A teleteaching program for students is offered under the title “Telemedicine in global dialogue”. The first partners in Indonesia and Thailand are certified. Temos extends its radius of action to all continents.

In 2009 the first international Temos conference "Healthcare Abroad and Health Tourism" will be held.

In 2010 the company Temos was spun off from the DLR. Separation of the "Telemedicine" division and focus on the "Accreditation" division under "Temos International".

2013 - 2017 Development of the quality programs "Quality in International Patient Care", "Excellence in Medical Tourism", "Quality in International Dental Care", "Quality in International Rehabilitation Care", "Quality in International Reproductive Care", "Quality in International Eye Care "and" Quality in International Medical Travel Coordination, "the first program for non-medical facilities.
