Tempeh (Lumajang)
Tempeh is a settlement in the Lumajang Regency (en) in Jawa Timur on the Indonesian island of Java .
location
The place is about 50 km south of Probolinggo on the main road from Loemadjang to the south, about 7 km south of Loemadjang.
Surname
Tempeh is also called pancasila tempeh because there is a pancasila monument in the center of the village .
Former train station
Today (2013) the former train station is still in need of renovation.
camp
In the post-war period around 1945-1947 there was a prisoner-of-war camp in Soekodono managed by Mr. WCF Leyfeldt and Mr. C. Bos Otten with around 66-70 men in the house and in the outbuildings of the factory manager of the tobacco plantation Tempeh. They were busy growing vegetables and had books available for recreation.
