The Tempton Group is one of the largest German personnel service providers with headquarters in Essen and achieved a consolidated turnover of around 223 million euros in 2019. Tempton employs around 7,000 people across Germany who work at over 100 locations for companies in almost all industries - from small and medium-sized companies and businesses to large companies and corporations.

Company history

Tempton was founded by the investment company Odewald & Compagnie in 2007 by merging the temporary employment agencies Acut , Constat , Herberg and Intertemp . Odewald & Compagnie sold Tempton to Tempton Management in 2014.

The Tempton Group is divided into four separate business areas: Tempton Personnel Services, Tempton Next Level, Tempton Technology and Tempton Outsourcing.

In 2020, Tempton said it was named the best German personnel service provider and the fourth best employer in Germany.

For 2018, Tempton was ranked 15th in size on Lünendonk's list of leading temporary employment and personnel services companies in Germany.

In 2018 Tempton took over two further personnel service providers: HKF and aboratis. On March 1, 2019 Tempton took over the personnel service provider Teilzeit Thiele., On December 1, 2019 then the personnel service providers Riedl and LHP

According to Tempton, in addition to personnel solutions such as temporary employment, personnel recruitment, personnel transfer and payroll accounting, it also offers work services, technical services in the field of information and communication technology and the outsourcing of complete processes (e.g. logistics, production processes or quality assurance).

Tempton has been listed on the open market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since October 9, 2019.

Protective shield proceedings 2017

On March 30, 2017, Tempton filed for bankruptcy with the Essen District Court in order to get rid of financial liabilities from the past that came from outside of the operational business. The procedure was carried out as a protective shield procedure in self- administration and was successfully completed in September 2017.
