Foundation and development until 1970

Adolf Schulte founded TENTE-ROLLEN GmbH as a sales company in 1923. The range included cast iron castors, piano castors, furniture and sliding door casters, as well as rails and fittings. Since 1954, TENTE has presented a range of products under the company logo with a Roman chariot at national and international trade fairs, which grew continuously in the first years of the economic boom. Development 1971 to 1999

In 1994 TENTE developed the corporate identity for the 21st century with a modernized logo and a new corporate color. Two years later, the program was further expanded by taking over the role of Schulte under the name "Greif". The Czech subsidiary has been part of the TENTE company since 1997 and is also responsible for Slovakia. Since 1997, new technologies have enabled the development of further products. The "INTEGRAL" hospital bed castor received two design awards in a very short time. In 1998, TENTE founded the subsidiary TENTE Spain in Barcelona, ​​which also serves the Portuguese market. In the same year the company's 75th anniversary was celebrated. In addition, the expansion of the production and administration building was completed and the third, fully computer-controlled high - bay warehouse was built.

Development from 2000 to 2013

In 2000, the takeover of BRUANDET, a leading manufacturer of chair and furniture casters, rounded off the TENTE program in this market segment . There has been a subsidiary in Sweden since 2002, and in the same year the northern branch in Germany, based in Bönen, and the southern branch in Nersingen were founded. In the 2003 financial year , TENTE Polyurethane Parts SAS in Macon, France, was taken over as a polyurethane specialist in order to promote performance in the heavy duty sector.

In 2005 TENTE founded a production plant and sales location in Suzhou, China. In the following two years, further subsidiaries were established in Hungary, Finland, Canada, Norway and Japan.
