Tentilla

As Tentilla / Tentillen (plurality) or Tentillum (singular) the thread-like projections on the be tentacles of cnidarians , in particular, comb jellies , respectively. Tentils are used, for example, to catch prey and may be equipped with adhesive bodies, so-called colloblasts .
