Kibek operates 16 carpet stores in Germany (as of December 2017). Further branches are planned. The turnover in 2012 was 3.5 million euros. Around 500 people are employed at Kibek.

The company's headquarters are in Elmshorn, which is also where the largest Kibek branch, which is referred to and advertised as the world's largest carpet store , is located.

History and origin of name

Kibek was founded in 1947 by Walter Sachau . After the end of the Second World War , he began trading and selling children's clothing. Sachau formed the acronym Kibek from the two word beginnings Ki and bek . Under this company name, the company developed into the largest carpet retailer in Germany.
