TeraGrid
The TeraGrid was an amalgamation of eleven partners who permanently provided a large amount of computing power for scientific calculations. TeraGrid was coordinated by the University of Chicago's Grid Infrastructure Group (GIG) . Every American scientist could get access to TeraGrid after an assessment .
The TeraGrid project was replaced and expanded by the Extreme Science and Engineering Digital Environment (XSEDE).
