Teracaft

Terakaft ("The Caravan" in Tamascheq , the Tuareg language ) is a music group founded in 2001 in the Tuareg Blues genre. They are considered to be the pioneers of desert rock in the Sahara.

history

Sanou Ag Ahmed founded Terakaft in 2001 together with Kedou as a duo. From 2007 they were a band, then also with Liya Ag Ablil Diara , who had previously worked with Terakaft occasionally. The two French Nicolas Grupp and Andrew Sudhibhasilp complete the current quartet.

Over the years, other musicians have worked with Terakaft: Rhissa ag Ogham, who died in a car accident in the Sahara in 2010; Abdallah ag Ahmed, who left the band in 2010 and was replaced by the French Mathias Vaguenez. Mathieu Rousseau took part in a few gigs in 2012. Ibrahim Ahmed dit Pino was on bass until the end of 2013, after which he played a leading role in the film Timbuktu .
