Termas del Flaco is a spa town in the Región del Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins in Chile . It is sometimes also called Baños del Tinguiririca or Las Vegas del Flaco .

location

The place is located in the Andes , in the valley of the Rio Tinguiririca at an altitude of 172  m about 100 km south of Santiago de Chile . The state border with Argentina runs eight kilometers to the east .

Thermal water

The thermal water in Termas del Flaco was analyzed and studied by Ignacio Domeyko as early as 1861. The Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile has already taken samples from the thermal baths. According to information, this thermal water is highly recommended for diseases such as arthritis, rheumatic diseases, sciatica, etc. The temperatures range between 73 and 96 ° C.

paleontology

In 1960, Diego Marquez discovered fossilized dinosaur tracks, which were then declared a national natural monument on July 13, 1967.
