history

The company was founded in 1927 as a book printer B. C. Heye & Co . Founded in downtown Bremen and initially produced catalogs, magazines and forms for companies and authorities. In 1937 the company was commissioned by Unterweser Reederei AG Bremen to develop a calendar especially for shipping, which offered the charterers the possibility of a long-term schedule overview. In addition, these calendars should be linked to an “illustrated advertisement”. B. C. Heye designed and produced the world's first wall calendar with a 3-month overview - a type of calendar that can be found in most offices today. The calendar was delivered under the name "Schiffahrtskalender" mainly to shipping companies and shipping-related companies.

After the Second World War , calendar production was resumed in 1949. From the mid-1950s onwards, companies from other industries were also increasingly using these multi-month wall planners with advertising options, whereupon B. C. Heye registered the product name terminic as an international trademark in 1967 . In 2000 the company changed its name and is now called - like its products - terminic .
