Termons

Under Termonen refers to hormone-like substances of the gametes that act gender-specific lower organisms. They determine gender phenotypically , but not secondary sex characteristics . Male organisms are called androtermons , female organisms are gynotermons .

The terms “Termone” and “ Gamone ” were coined by Max Hartmann in his work General Biology (1925). These substances are mainly found in protozoa , algae and fungi .
