Tero Niemi (* in Finland ) is a former Finnish floorball player . During his active career he played for TTKK Soittorsia and Puuhapussi (Finland), as well as for KAC Floorball ( Austria ).

Career

In 2002, Niemi originally moved from the Finnish club Salibandy-97 to the Austrian club IC Graz to work in Graz. However, from this season onwards, the club formed a cooperation with the KAC Floorball , which says that all Graz players should switch to the newly founded KAC in order to create a joint, competitive team in the Bundesliga. So he switched to the KAC.

No coach had been found at the KAC, so Niemi proposed to try himself as a player-coach. The idea paid off and the KAC became champions in the first year, and the following year they reached the final again, but failed because of the TVZ Wikings . In the following four years, the club only reached the semi-finals in the Bundesliga. After the 2007/08 season, Niemi announced that he would leave the club and return to Finland . There he joined Pouhapussi .

Others

Niemi was considered an extremely dangerous player. His number seven, which he wore at the KAC Floorball , was officially banned by the club in 2016 and has not been awarded since.
