Trial and conviction for the 2003-2004 murders

On October 15, 2004, Terry Blair was charged with 7 murders, assault and 3 rapes.

The murders came to light when a caller informed the police of the location of the bodies and said he was the culprit. He said the reason for the murders was that they were prostitutes and thus scum. The investigators found that the perpetrator had to live near the site. With the help of linguistics, they found out that the voice was Blair's.

Although the evidence was mostly based on circumstantial evidence - e.g. B. His sperm was found on a victim - charges were brought. Blair defended himself by stating that this piece of evidence only established that he had sex with the victim. The prosecution countered that since they had not cleaned up afterwards, he must have been the last to see her alive. Because Blair continued to deny responsibility for the crimes, it cannot be said with certainty that he acted out of compulsion to kill prostitutes. Prosecutors agreed in a deal to waive the death penalty if Blair in turn waived his right to hear his case in public trial. On March 27, 2008, Blair was found guilty of these six murders by Judge John O'Malley and sentenced to life in prison with no parole.

Blair is currently housed at the Potosi Correctional Center in Mineral Point, Missouri.

Blair appealed, but the Missouri's appeals court dismissed it in August 2009.
