Tessinerplatz

The Tessinerplatz is a place in the city of Zurich in Enge -Quartier. It ends at the Enge train station , which was built from Ticino granite between 1925 and 1927 and gave its name to the square in front of it. The square was named on the occasion of the 150-year membership of the Canton of Ticino in the Swiss Confederation in 1953.

The square was redesigned from 2005 to 2006 as part of the renewal and reorganization of the tracks of the Zurich Transport Authority . Since 2006, Tessinerplatz and the station building have been part of the Lumière urban plan .

traffic

In addition to individual traffic, Tessinerplatz is also used by VBZ trams. The Bahnhof Enge tram stop is served by tram lines 5, 6 and 7. There is a taxi rank in front of the station building .
