Texas Faggott is a Finnish music duo consisting of Tim Thick and Pentti Slayer who have been working together since the early 1990s.

Band history

The duo made their first recordings in the Sörkkä Sonic studio near Helsinki . At that time Texas Faggott still consisted of three members, Francoise Faggott left the band. With the attention of several producers, the fledgling band managed to work on several musical projects with other Finnish artists.

The name of the band came about during this time. One anecdote has it that the duo watched Coogan's big bluff with Clint Eastwood in 1968. There a prostitute in New York scolded Deputy Sheriff Walt Coogan , who came from a small town in Arizona and was dressed in boots and a large cowboy hat, “Texas fagot!” (“Texas fagot !”) When he didn't want to go to bed with her and she Threw thief out of the motel room. A sample of this saying can also be heard in one of her first songs.

Since the new millennium, the band has tried to gain recognition outside of their own country. Since then they have had a special status in countries such as Japan, Israel and Australia.
