He is responsible or has ultimate responsibility for the textual agendas in the media, whether newspaper , radio or television. He helps editors and reporters with the conception and production of their articles. The head of the text ensures understandable wording, a good writing style and cuts out superfluous information or requests that missing information / statements be added. Fluency and creativity are indispensable for this job, in addition to the ability to work in a team and persuasiveness as very useful qualities in the operational process. In practice, older, experienced editors are usually entrusted with this function.

Copywriters in the advertising industry often work particularly closely with the creative director of their company.
