Text word method

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The text word method enables the indexing and retrieval of literature from subject areas that do not have universally accepted terminology, i.e. many social sciences and humanities, first and foremost philosophy . In the late sixties , Norbert Henrichs designed the text word method for use in electronic philosophy documentation . He is not only one of the pioneers in the application of electronic data processing in information practice, but also the pioneer in the documentation of terminologically non-rigid technical languages.

The text word method is used on the one hand as a documentary method, on the other hand, with its indexing vocabulary , it offers an empirical basis for topic- analytical informetric procedures. These procedures in turn provide a basis for research into the history of science and philosophy or analyzes of the history of concepts. In addition, the text word method is suitable for collecting empirical material for the construction of a thesaurus - if this is then suitable for the specialist discipline.
