The Thanksgiving Point is a striking Nunatak in Antarctica Ross Dependency . It rises on the west side of the Shackleton Glacier immediately north of the confluence of the Mincey Glacier in the Queen Maud Mountains .
It was named by the team at Texas Tech University who explored the Shackleton Glacier between 1962 and 1963. The nunatak owes its name to the fact that the team reached it on November 22, 1962, Thanksgiving Day .
