The Baltic and International Maritime Council (German for example: The Baltic Sea and International Maritime Council , short: BIMCO, formerly: The Baltic and International Maritime Conference) is an international shipping organization. The organization is based in the Copenhagen suburb of Bagsværd in Denmark .

The organization, founded in 1905, functions as an independent association of ship owners, shipping companies , ship brokers , shipping agencies and numerous other parties involved in shipping. The goals of BIMCO are to improve standards and align rules and laws in maritime shipping. In addition, the organization works towards the development of a shipping policy that is fair and equitable for all parties.

The BIMCO is an international non-governmental organization (INGO) and attached to a number of United Nations organizations as an organization with observer status. There are also close ties to numerous shipping authorities, government bodies and other shipping stakeholders in the European Union , the United States and Asia .
