The Basement Boys is a garage and deep house project by American producers Teddy Douglas, Jay Steinhour and Thomas Davis. The trio has also released under the names 007 , The Pride , Sublevel and Those Guys .

biography

The trio's first single , Love Don't Live Here No More , was released in 1988 and ranked 25th on Billboard Dance Music / Club Play Singles. The 1989 single Don't Blame Me was given the name Sublevel, which was also used twice in the mid-1990s. In addition, the producer team has also been working as Those Guys since 1991.

The album Blue Notes in the Basement , created with Ultra Naté , was released again in 1991 as The Basement Boys and contained twelve tracks, including the extracts Scandal and Is It Love? . The latter was in the UK charts for a week in February 1991 , reached number 71, making it the Basement Boys' only chart success.

In 1996 Douglas, Steinhour and Davis released the Do You Believe EP under the name 007. It was not until 1999 that another single as The Basement Boys followed with Holiday , which, however, went largely unnoticed. In the same year, the single Paradise appeared under the pseudonym The Pride.

The third album, Mudfoot Jones , hit stores in 2006. The only release, Never Seen It Comin , was released in 2007. The last release so far, Those Guys single Love, Love, Love , dates back to 2014 and is a remake of the song from 1996.
