The Brandalls was a German rock band. Her song Not the time to write a love song from the album Frequently was the title song of the WDR crime scene "The girl with the doll" from April 8, 1996. The single Wonderfly from 1998 was the title song of the Schimanski episode " Rattennest ".

Band history

The band was founded at the end of 1995 by singer and guitarist Markus Brendel and bassist Wolfgang Liedtke. Both had already played together in the band October , which u. a. 1991 took second place in a youth competition of the SDR .

When they started working with the composer and producer Günther Illi , Brendel and Liedtke then named the band The Brandalls , to which Günther Illi joined as guitarist and Oliver Kauffmann as drummer. In the following years The Brandalls played a large number of concerts at home and abroad, including the Grushinsky Festival in Russia in 1996.

Songs by The Brandalls were and can be heard in various television and cinema productions. In addition to the singles Not the time to write a love song and Wonderfly , this was u. a. the song Stranded in the 2001 movie Heart and Heart .

In 2019 the song "Wonderfly" was released again on the occasion of the third anniversary of the death of Schimanski actor Götz George (June 19, 2016).
