The Briefs is an American punk band from Seattle , Washington and was founded in 2000 by musicians Daniel J. Travanti, Steve E. Nix, Lance Romance and Chris Brief.

The band's music is a mix of new wave and punk in the style of the late 1970s, with significant influences from bands like the Buzzcocks , the Undertones and the Adverts . The visual appearance of the letters is also shaped by the accessories of early punk, i. H. tight jeans, bleached hair, sunglasses.

Band history

The band arose spontaneously at a birthday party in Seattle, which resulted in the debut album "Hit after Hit", which was released in 2000 on Dirtnap Records . The same label also released the successor Off The Charts . In the meantime, the band had been contacted by Interscope Records . An album was recorded for this major label , but it was never released.

In Europe the band played several times as a supporter of the Toten Hosen .
