The Casuals were a British pop band mostly remembered as an example of a one-hit wonder .
Band history
As early as 1958, Howard Newcomb and John Tebb tried each other as a duo, but they made music especially after work. Alan Taylor joined them in the early 1960s . As a trio, they went to London to make a career there. However, that didn't work. In 1966 they settled in Italy and worked alternately in Rome and Milan . Songs like "Adios amore" and "Il sole non tra" originate from this time and were quite successful in Italy.
In November 1967 they were joined by drummer Bob O'Brien , and in mid-1968 the quartet had their first and only hit with Jesamine (written by Marty Wilde ). The successor title "Toy" only came in at number 30 in the British charts.
