The Cyclists' Alliance

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cyclists 'Alliance (Eng., Dt. About the female cyclists' association ) is an international association of female cyclists .

The creation of the Cyclists' Alliance in 2017 is in the context of the plan of the “riders union” Cyclistes Professionnels Associés (CPA) to create a section for women cyclists. Former rider Iris Slappendel was invited to a meeting of the CPA in February 2017, but doubted that it would make sense to integrate women's cycling into the CPA. A CPA official allegedly questioned that female cyclists are professionals . Following positive feedback in a survey of 450 female members of international cycling teams , Slappendel founded The Cyclists' Alliance together with Carmen Small and Gracie Elvin .

The Cyclists' Alliance has set itself the goal of improving the working conditions of female racing drivers in cooperation with the World Cycling Association Union Cycliste Internationale , in particular to increase safety in races, but also within the teams against sexual assault and to enforce minimum working conditions. In addition to representing the world federation and race organizers, it also offers legal advice and insurance benefits.
