The Daily Star is one of the largest English-language daily newspapers in Bangladesh . It was founded on January 14, 1991 by Syed Mohammed Ali. Mahfuz Anam is its current editor. He heads the Transcom Group, which in addition to The Daily Star publishes Prothom Alo , the largest Bengali-language daily newspaper in Bangladesh. The Daily Star is a member of the Asia News Network funded by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation .
