The Faint is a band based on the Saddle Creek label that combines synth sounds with danceable beats and refreshes the synth pop of the 1980s with modern sounds.

Members are Todd Fink (formerly Todd Baechle, now husband of Orenda Fink , musician at Azure Ray ), responsible for vocals and synthesizers, his brother Clark Baechle (drums), Joel Peterson (bass), Jacob Thiele (synthesizer) and the newest member Dapose (guitar).

After the more traditional indie rock album “Media” (1998), they took the step to electronics with their second album “Blank-Wave Arcade” (1999). The content is often about sex (the songs have titles like “Worked Up So Sexual”, “Casual Sex” or “Sex Is Personal”) and the darker side of human existence (“Sealed Human”, “The Passives”).

With their third album “Danse Macabre” (2001) they developed from an insider tip to bearers of hope for danceable electroclash and at the latest with their CD “Wet From Birth” (2004) they have created a larger fan base in Europe. Among other things, this is thanks to their intensive live performances, where video installations accompany the music and turn the concerts into a total work of art.

In May 2008 The Faint announced that they had separated from the Saddle Creek label and produced the album "Fasciinatiion" under their own label (blank.wav).
