The Faith was an American hardcore band from Washington that was part of Dischord Records .
Band history
The band formed in the summer of 1981. Alec MacKaye , former singer of the Untouchables , and Michael Hampton of State of Alert on guitar were involved. After a demo was recorded, a split LP with Void was released on Dischord Records. The album contained the song You're X'd , which took up the straight edge philosophy of MacKaye's older brother Ian ( Minor Threat , Dischord Records).
In 1983 an EP called Subject to Change was released , which was produced by Ian MacKaye. With a second guitarist, the band took on more melodic songs. A few months after the release, the band broke up and three of the five members formed the band Embrace together with Ian MacKaye . Guitarist Eddie Janney joined Rites of Spring and later formed One Last Wish with Michael Hampton . Alec MacKaye later sang with Ignition and The Warmers .
