The Far Side
The Far Side (Eng. The other side ) is a cartoon series by Gary Larson , which appeared from January 1, 1979 to January 1, 1995.
content
Most of Larson's cartoons consist of just one picture with a caption. Often the joke lies in the combination of image and text. Recurring themes are people stranded on lonely islands, aliens, hell and cavemen. Many of the cartoons also feature animals such as cows, bears, dogs, and ducks. Human characters are often depicted as overweight people wearing glasses. The predecessor of the cartoon series was the comic series Nature's Way .
distribution
The Far Side has been published by over 1,900 daily newspapers, translated into 17 languages, and reproduced in calendars and many books.
In July 2020, Larson published three new far-side cartoons on his website , and old works by him will also be posted online.
