The Force Dimension is a Dutch EBM band.

history

The beginnings

The band was founded in 1987 by Tycho de Groot (vocals), Rene van Dijck (keyboard) and Armin Elmensdorp (experimental sounds).

The Force Dimension initially worked in the field of experimental post-industrial music. In 1988 an artistically designed 7 "single was released in collaboration with the post-industrial project De Fabriek .

Years of success

After changing course in the direction of Electronic Body Music , Armin Elmensdorp left the band and the group was signed by the Belgian label KK Rekords.

There are two versions of the debut album The Force Dimension , in blue, produced by Belgian producer Luc Van Acker , and in red, produced by Dirk Ivens (Dive) and the band themselves after they were dissatisfied with Acker's previous production. Both this album and the second work "Deus Ex Machina", published in 1990, mainly contain danceable, partly melodic EBM pieces.

During this time (1989-1992) the band played partially as an opening act for acts like The Neon Judgment and The Klinik .

In 1996, The Force Dimension, in collaboration with former band member Elmensdorp, produced a CD entitled "Kitty Hawk", which contained both remixes of tracks from the early experimental phase and new songs.

After their tenth anniversary in 1997, the band fell apart.

The comeback

In 2011, a first attempt at comeback failed. In 2013, the project made a renewed attempt at resuscitation with the line-up of Rene van Dijck (synthesizer, vocals) and Betty Correa (vocals, guitar, drums). The Force Dimension played in this line-up at the Belgian BIMfest in December 2014.

In July 2015, the band was part of the line-up of the EBM Festival Family Reunion XI in Sandersleben .
