The Hotknives is a Founded in 1982, British ska - band .

history

The Hotknives were founded in 1982. First concerts followed and the two live albums "Live at the boatman" (1988) and "Live 'N' Skankin '" (1989); only then was the first studio album recorded ("The Way Things Are", 1989). In 1994 the band restructured and began touring Europe regularly. In 1996 they released their second studio album ("Home") on Grover Records , further tours followed and in 2000 the third album ("Screams, Dreams and Custard Creams") was again released on Grover Records. In 2009 the band completed their first tour of Japan.

The band plays English Third Wave Ska with influences from rocksteady and English pop music of the 1980s. They are considered to be a very good live band and one of the most influential bands on the European ska scene.
