The Micropalaeontological Society
The The Micropalaeontological Society (TMS) is a British non-profit organization for Micropaleontology .
It was founded in 1970 by Leslie Rowsell Moore (1912-2003) as the British Micropalaeontological Group (BMG) and called itself from 1975 Micropalaentological Society. There are six special groups within the society (Calcareous Nannofossil, Foraminifera, Microvertebrate, Ostracod, Palynology, Silicofossil). The annual meeting of the TMS is in November. They have published the Journal of Micropalaeontology since 1982, as well as a twice-yearly newsletter and book series (Special Publications), and have awarded the Brady Medal (named after British pioneers in micropalaeontology George Stewardson Brady and Henry Bowman Brady ) since 2007 .
