David Siveter

David John Siveter (born March 12, 1946 in Wolverhampton ) is a British paleontologist who is primarily concerned with ostracods and other microfossils .

Life

Siveter already took part in geology courses and excursions during his school days . Together with his twin brother Derek J. Siveter he attended the University of Leicester and studied there under Peter Colley Sylvester-Bradley . He proposed his dissertation topic on Silurian ostracodes. Today Siveter is Professor Emeritus of Paleontology at the University of Leicester.

Since 1970 he has been a member of today's Micropalaeontological Society , founded as the British Micropalaeontological Group , of which he was chairman from 2004 to 2007. In 2014 he was awarded the Society's Brady Medal and was made an honorary member the following year.
