The New Teacher Project
The New Teacher Project ( TNTP ) is a US non-profit organization in the form of a public charity , which has set itself the goal of achieving greater equity in education. To this end, TNTP creates programs that enable those responsible for education to hire outstanding teachers and develop them further.
TNTP was founded in 1997 by former Teach For America teacher Michelle Rhee. The organization is based in New York , NY. About two thirds of it is financed by its own income for its services, about one third by donations, etc. a. from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation .
