The Sea Change is a band from Hamburg in Germany that was founded in 1997.

The group consists of two members: Ralf Walter Marquardt (born January 13, 1959 in Hamburg ), who is responsible for the singing and the lyrics, and Sven Gordon Williams (born August 21, 1963 in Edinburgh ), who takes on the composition and arrangement Plays piano, guitar, electric bass and drums.

The band is a studio project that specializes in editing literature (genre: storyteller).

They are accompanied by international guests on their productions. Particularly noteworthy here is the trumpet virtuoso Lew Soloff from New York, USA . The studio crew includes the Berlin-based drummer Tim Lorenz (Rainbirds, Michel v. Dyke) and the Hamburg-based bassist Prof. Anselm Kluge (Kängeru, Tatärä) - lecturer for the pop course at the Hamburg University of Music.

The music has many influences that come from the Anglo-American, French and Latin American regions.
