The Silencers
The Silencers are a British rock band with Scottish roots that were formed in London in 1986 .
history
Their first single, Painted Moon , was a small international hit. At times they were even compared with the Simple Minds and U2 .
In 1987 they released their first album, A Letter From St. Paul , which included the relatively successful Painted Moon and another hit titled I See Red .
Bulletproof Heart from the third album Dance to the Holy Man is her biggest success so far.
In the 1990s, The Silencers followed fashionable trends, switching from their old style to grunge and electronic music. They continued to release albums, but could hardly build on their earlier successes.
style
The band's music is characterized by a melodic mix of pop , folk music and traditional Celtic influences.
The Silencers are often compared to other Scottish bands with a similar style. Examples are Big Country , Del Amitri, and The Proclaimers .
