The Sound of Music (song)
The Sound of Music is the theme song of the musical of the same name about the Trapp family .
It was sung by Mary Martin at the premiere in 1959 , in the film adaptation of My Songs - My Dreams (1965) by Julie Andrews . The piece introduces the character Maria into the plot of the musical - a young novice in an Austrian monastery, who is modeled on the real Maria Augusta Trapp .
The song was included in the American Film Institute's list of "100 Greatest Songs in Movie History".
The title The Sound of Musik from Falco's album Emotional has a similar title, albeit otherwise without similarities .
Conchita recorded a new version of "The Sound of Music" with the Wiener Symphoniker. The title was released on June 1, 2018 as the first single from the album "From Vienna With Love", which will be released in October 2018.
