The fourth studio album by the Austrian musician Falco is emotional . It came on the market in October 1986 and was highly praised by critics because Falco showed very emotional traits here. After the release, Falco went on the Emotional world tour. Like its predecessor, the album was produced by Rob and Ferdi Bolland .

background

The first release from the album was The Sound of Musik . The song was able to build on its predecessors, especially abroad. With the song Falco addressed the controversial election of Kurt Waldheim as Austrian Federal President, who later caused a sensation with the Waldheim affair .

Next came Coming Home (Jeanny Part 2, One Year Later) in November 1986 . The single reached number one in the German charts (making it Falco's fourth and last number one hit in Germany). The lyrics are about Falco returning to Jeanny after a year in a psychiatric institution (shown in the video) , who however has disappeared.

In early 1987 the single Emotional came out (B-side: Emotional - Her side of the story ). In the first song Falco sang that no woman in this world would suit him. In Her side of the story , Falco's partner describes the story from her point of view, but not in German like Falco , but in English .

Dedications

The album's cover pays homage to Elvis Presley, whose Comeback Special 1968 album looks almost identical. The album also includes a tribute to Robert Capa (1913–1954) and an homage to the American actress Kathleen Turner . The album is also dedicated to his supposed daughter Katharina-Bianca.
