Junge Roemer is the second studio album by the Austrian musician Falco . It was produced by Robert Ponger , who had worked on the previous album, Einzelhaft .

background

After his worldwide success with the album " Einzelhaft" and the single Der Kommissar that was released from it in 1982 and 1983, Falco decided the following year to produce and publish his second album.

The album itself and the individual tracks on it were critically acclaimed because Falco opened a new door in its genre range with pop and rock music that was heavily influenced by funk .

Two weeks after the album was released, it was a success with a number 1 in Austria. A month later, the single of the same name was released, which even made it to number 2 in Spain, 15th in the Netherlands and 24th in Switzerland.

For Falco, this album was a commercial flop, while the reception among music critics was largely good. Years later, Falco said he should have published a book instead of an album because the lyrics were of high quality.

Others

All titles on the album were filmed by DoRo on behalf of ORF for the approximately one-hour film contribution Falco - Heroes of Today . After Falco's death, a book was published that was named after the song High As Never on the album .

In addition, a best-of CD / DVD was released in 2007 that bore the same name (see high as never ).
