The Washington Projects is a hip-hop and R & B - band from the United States , consisting of the two siblings Jekob and Rachel Washington. In the mid 90s, Jekob and Rachel started making music with their older brother Josh and started with the band name Souljahz. Months after performing the pilot episode "It's Your Show" on MTV, all three siblings signed a 7-year recording contract with Major Warner Bros. Records and released their debut album "The Fault Is History" in 2002. The band was nominated for 5 Dove Awards in 2003 and won 2 of them.

Joshua left the band and Jekob and Rachel decided to rename the band The Washington Projects . Since then, the two siblings have performed under this name and released their debut album "Commanders of the Resistance" on the label "The Black And White Label Group" in November 2007.
