The Wiseguys were a British big beat and hip hop band.
history
The band The Wiseguys (from the English wise guy for know-it-alls or clever guys) was founded in 1994 by Theo Keating aka DJ Touché together with Paul Eve aka DJ Regal . Keating is a successful producer of underground and electro music in England and has shaped the big beat scene .
Keating and Eve have been producing together since 1990 and released the EP Ladies Say Ow! In 1994 . . In 1996 her first album Executive Suite was released . Eve left the band in 1997 to devote himself to his solo career.
Keating released the second Wiseguys album The Antidote in 1998 , which included the two most famous songs Ooh La La and Start the Commotion . The band had international success in particular with the two songs Start the Commotion and Ooh La La , which were recorded in international commercials as background music. With the release of Ooh La La in 1999 the breakthrough came in at number 2 in the British singles charts.
In 2001 the band broke up and Keating, who remained until the end, dedicated himself to house music under Fatboy Slim's Southern Fried record label
