Theater days at the lake

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Theatertage am See is one of the most important international amateur theater festivals and has been held in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance since 1984 .

The festival is one of the biggest events in European school, youth and amateur theater. Every year the participants meet in the Bodensee-Schule St. Martin in Friedrichshafen for several days of workshops and courses. School and youth theater productions as well as amateur theater productions from all over Europe are invited to the competition.

The Theatertage am See celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009 and could look back on a total of around 500 performances with more than 5000 theater actors and almost 100,000 spectators.

The Förderverein Theatertage am See Friedrichshafen eV organizes and supervises regional school projects, language support programs, theater courses and performances as well as theater pedagogical training for teachers. Since 2009 the association has had its own ensemble Theater Oberschwaben-Bodensee (TOB) and the youth variety Kraball . In January 2013 the improvisation theater Utobia (Umwerfende Teutonisch Oesterreichische Bühnen Initiatives AG) was founded under the umbrella of the Förderverein. As part of the 30th Theater Days in April 2014, the association's new circus project, the ZirkusAkademie, was presented.

In 2008, the European Theater Adventure youth theater movement initiated by the association received the innovation award from the Socioculture Fund, which is supported by the German Federal Cultural Foundation.
