Theo Erich Sönnichsen was a German sea and aviation captain and writer in the 1930s and 1940s.

Life

Sönnichsen was a captain and in 1925 advised the screenwriter Werner Jonas on the script for the film Schiff in Seenot for Phoebus-Film -AG (Berlin), where he appeared as a co-author. From 1936 he worked under the direction of Major General Friedrich Christiansen , who also came from the Navy, as a clerk at the command of the Berlin Aviation Schools. For this purpose he wrote manuals for service instruction such as Die Luftfahrt- Navigation (1936) and Das Flugzeug, Handbuch über Aufbau, Engine, Aircraft, Equipment, Elektr. Facilities, FT system, repair, operational measures (1940), which can be described as a standard work on German aircraft construction. In 1937, with the establishment of the NSFK , he was appointed NSFK-Standartenführer according to his rank as captain.
