There is hardly any information about the origin and life of Theodorit.

Theodorit was first mentioned in Constantinople in 1352 , not as a metropolitan. In 1354 he was called the Metropolitan of Kiev and all of Russia . The background is unclear.

In 1355 Roman was first mentioned as Metropolitan of Lithuania in Constantinople. Since then there has been no more information about Theodorit.

  4. There was a metropolitan of Kiev in 1354 . However, he was in Moscow and was just deployed ( Alexej Biakont ). Theodorit claimed the seat in Kiev. This was under Lithuanian rule. The name would therefore actually have been correctly metropolitan of Lithuania . It is also unclear who made Theodorit a metropolitan. The Patriarchate of Constantinople would have been responsible for this. There Theodorit was never mentioned as a metropolitan in the numerous documents that have survived. It is therefore assumed that he was appointed metropolitan by the local patriarch in Bulgaria in 1353 . This was independent from Constantinople. But there is no evidence for this. Not useful.
