Thermaltake Technology Co. Ltd. was founded in 1999 in Taiwan. The company develops, produces and sells cooling solutions ( processor coolers ), power supplies and housings for personal computers worldwide .

The company's head office is in Shen Keng Hsiang in Taipei County in Taiwan, with production in Guangdong in the People's Republic of China . The European headquarters are in Norderstedt near Hamburg, with further branches in the United States, Japan, China and Australia.

The processor coolers from the Orb range are a product family that is specially designed for users of computer games and those who want to overclock their CPU and graphics cards (overclockers).

While the processor cooler developed into the main business area and showed considerable growth rates, Thermaltake also devoted itself to the development of PC cases. In addition to the well-known Orb brand for processor coolers, sales of color-coded computer cases made of aluminum, initially under the Xaser brand , have also started. The housings can be equipped with adapted accessories to dissipate the heat generated in the housing. The company also offers housings with side windows made of plastic.

In 2002 Thermaltake expanded its product portfolio to include power supplies from the Purepower series.

Research and Development

The company conducts research and development in the field of personal computers, in particular for power supply, for monitoring and dissipating the waste heat generated in the computer through air and liquid coolants . In addition, the PC cases are also being further developed. The R&D team involved in these tasks comprises around 60 engineers and IT experts.
