Thesaurus of Indo-European Text and Language Materials
The Thesaurus of Indo-European Text and Language Materials (TITUS) is an international scientific project for the coordinated recording of relevant original texts of traditional Indo-European languages , which is supported by the following institutes:
- Institute for Empirical Linguistics of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main ,
- Ústav starého Predního východu of the Charles University in Prague ,
- Almen og Anvendt Sprogvidenskab of the University of Copenhagen and des
- Departamento de Filología Clásica y Románica (Filología Griega) of the Universidad de Oviedo , Spain.
The current project manager is Jost Gippert (Frankfurt am Main).
The project was launched in 1987 under the name “Thesaurus of Indo-European Text Materials on Data Carriers”. Along with an expansion of the original objective, it was renamed to the current project name in 1990. Some of the project's texts have been available on the Internet since 1995. Texts that are still being edited are only available to project members.
